I don't think it's the number of people in the world that's the problem necessarily, but rather how we all collectively relate to each other. There isn't a lot of trust or community in modern society because most people aren't very introspective or philosophical. Most people just do and say things but don't understand why they do them or the consequences of their actions. If humanity as a whole had more self-awareness then we would have much more trust in each other than we do now. Then I might actually look at population increase as a good thing because another friendly person would be entering the world instead of another person who would grow up to be mean and fearful. I enjoyed reading about your perspective!
