Thanks for the article. The part on sickness behavior really stood out to me. My gut guess is it could be an altruistic behavior that lowers chances of other members of the species succumbing to the potentially dangerous infection. I do wonder if some of the foods we eat today (and consider healthy) could be a cause of inflammation since our diet today is vastly different from what our ancestors ate, which was mostly meat. On a personal note, CBD has helped reduce my levels of depression and anxiety and many studies have shown that it has anti-inflammatory properties. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the ideas discussed in your article gain more mainstream traction in the future.
